ANZAAS Victorian Division

In Victoria, our committee is committed to doing all we can towards maintaining ANZAAS as an effective body in the support of science. It is a great pleasure to meet new people attending our events in Melbourne, at which non-members as well as members are always welcome. And it is gratifying that there is now an increasing trend in the Victorian membership numbers. It is our hope that, in the near future, advances will be possible in the other Divisions as well, to ensure the overall progress of ANZAAS.

As an important core activity that can maintain interest, we run several science talks each year. These are intended for wide-ranging audiences of scientists and all other interested people, and can give insights into significant scientific research, especially that which has not yet come to widespread public attention. At the conclusion, people can circulate, with refreshments available in the foyer. The speakers at our various events are all people who can speak authoritatively on their subject, and we are most grateful to them all for their collaboration in the program.

To keep members in touch, we send out a Victorian newsletter, with several issues each year.

All of the activities are, we believe, found to be of value by members and other interested people who attend.
